TradCatKnight: The Fallen Jews: “Cutoff” By The Foreskins Of Their Hearts By: Eric Gajewski
Jeremias (Jeremiah) 4:4 Be circumcised to the Lord, and take away the foreskins of your hearts, ye men of Juda, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem: lest my indignation come forth like fire, and burn, and there be none that can quench it: because of the wickedness of your thoughts.
We constantly read in the Old testament how the Jews have fallen due to their rebellion and the turning of their backs on the true God. Christ came unto His own and His own received Him not. Think about if today you were to go to that summer ending “family” barbecue you waited all year for and when you got there nobody “received” you. This was a horrible suffering for Jesus that truly none of us can truly comprehend. We would probably pace back and forth after awhile go from room to room but we would always be met by unkind words and faces. This very perfectly describes the situation Jesus went through. Nevertheless, the Old Testament describes the rebellious Jews in various ways but one of the more interesting ways they are admonished is by using very graphic language in the Book of Jeremiah. The Prophet cries out to the Jews and all those, truly, who turn from the true God, are beckoned to “return unto the Lord!”.
