Tradcatknight: The Sight of Hell by the Rev. J. Furniss, C.SS.EThe Reverend John Furniss ( 1809-1865) was an English Roman Catholic priest whose mission was to help children know the teachings of the Church. He was the founder of Children's Missions and used his writings as a method of religious training. These missions were meant to educate not only school-aged children, but also young people working in the world. His ability to capture their attention while teaching deep and often times very serious truths, such as the evils of sin and the pains of hell, were a hallmark of his successful preaching.
Although the material in this book can be frightening, Fr. Furniss never felt that it should be withheld from children. His consensus was that if a child grew up knowing the terrible consequences of committing a single mortal sin, he would avoid all dangerous occassions and thereby secure his salvation.
Adults who have not had the experience of hearing a true Catholic missionary deliver sermons on the Fires of Hell and the consequences of mortal sin, should immerse themselves in this short little book to prepare themselves for repentance and a good General Confession. tradcatknight.blogspot.com/2017/05/the-sight-of-hell-by-rev-j-furniss-csse.html#more
