After granting and extending to the Society of St. Pius X priests the right to administer the Sacrament of Penance to the faithful also after the Jubilee, Pope Francis is taking another significant step towards bringing the Society of St. Pius X closer to the Holy See. A letter approved by the Pope, authorizes bishops of the dioceses, which include also members of the fraternity, to delegate a priest to attend the sacrament of marriage between Lefebvre faithful. When necessary, however, the Bishop may also delegate directly to a priest of the Fraternity the celebration of the wedding."
